Stew:
40g butter
400g beef, diced
1 onion, diced
1 pt stock
225g carrots
225g potatoes
1 leek, sliced
1 packet minestrone soup mix
2 tsbp parsley, chopped
salt, pepper
Dumplings:
50g SR flour
15g suet
1 tsp parsley, chopped
thyme
salt, pepper
2 tsp milk
- Seal the meat in ½ the butter
- Add to casserole
- Fry in onions and leeks in rest of butter
- Add to casserole
- Add remaining ingredients
- Cook 150, GM3 2 hours
- Mix flour, suet, herbs and seasoning in a bowl
- Add milk to make a stiff dough
- Shape into walnut sized balls
- Add to top of stew
- Cook for 15 mins
